In order to accurately quote a project, CAD Dimensions requires an e-mailed or faxed description of your requirements along with a visual concept of the design such as a sketch or existing CAD file, and some contact information. It should be noted that some parts can be quoted by a phone call or detailed e-mail. No contact or project information received by CAD Dimensions is ever sent to any 3rd party for any reason unless requested by the customer in writing.
For smaller modeling projects, invoicing will be sent and due at project completion. Larger projects may require a payment schedule to be determined and defined in the quote. Since some conceptual designs have unknown results until the project is underway, a “pre-pay” method may be set up for a pre-determined number of CAD hours. This is ideal for those on a tight budget that would like to get their project underway or to verify a simple design concept.

CAD Dimensions can accept data in any standard CAD format as well as hand sketches, 2D prints, verbal descriptions or even reverse engineer existing parts. My wide range of CAD experiences allow me to create accurate renderings from a variety of sources.
The solid model and rendering can be output in a variety of formats. Each is dependant upon the purpose of the project or the destination of the CAD file. For renderings, JPEG, BMP, WMF, GIF, TIF are some of the more common formats that can be brought into most any windows paint package or internet browser. For solid models and details, IGES, SAT, DWG, DXF are normally used for translating back into another CAD program. If your purpose is to make a rapid prototype, we can export in STL format for stereolithography. And finally, VRML. This form of output is called Virtual Reality Modeling Language. It allows non-CAD-literate people to view their models on an easy to use, free, 3D viewer. You can rotate, zoom, and pan your part to view all sides and features in real-time.
Once your project is put into solid modeling, new views, sections and modeling environments can be modified and returned very quickly (Normally less than 24 hours), thus saving on overhead. Also, CAD Dimensions securely retains a copy of all projects for later modifications if required. This greatly reduces effort in future revisions. Of course, CAD files may be deleted at the customer’s request as well.
